Cookie Breathing

One of my favorite ways to introduce diaphragmatic breathing to little ones is through Cookie Breathing It’s a great tool to assist with relaxation and helps teach mindfulness, as well! Here are the steps:
1. Imagine your favorite cookie fresh out of the oven.
2. Breathe in slowly through your nose to smell it.
3. Breathe out slowly through your mouth to cool it off.
4. Do this again at least 5 times. It helps to have an actual cookie when first learning it
(As a treat, you can eat it afterwards, too! )
